There’s something about a homemade peach shortcake that just feels like summer in West Texas—warm, nostalgic, and bursting with flavor. The flakey, buttery layers, the juicy sweetness of sun-ripened peaches, and that cloud of cinnamon-kissed whipped cream… it’s the kind of dessert that brings folks together.

And when it comes to real estate? I believe a home should do the very same thing—offer comfort, charm, and a place where your sweetest memories are made.

🍰 Homemade Peach Shortcake with Cinnamon Whipped Cream

Ingredients (Serves 4–6):

For the Shortcakes:

• 2 cups all-purpose flour

• 1/4 cup granulated sugar

• 1 tbsp baking powder

• 1/2 tsp salt

• 1/2 cup cold unsalted butter, cubed

• 2/3 cup cold heavy cream

• 1 egg

• 1 tsp vanilla extract

For the Peaches:

• 4–5 ripe peaches, peeled and sliced

• 2 tbsp sugar

• 1/2 tsp cinnamon

• 1 tbsp lemon juice

For the Cinnamon Whipped Cream:

• 1 cup heavy whipping cream

• 2 tbsp powdered sugar

• 1 tsp ground cinnamon

• 1 tsp vanilla extract

🥄 Directions:

1. Prep the Peaches – In a bowl, combine sliced peaches, sugar, cinnamon, and lemon juice. Stir gently and let sit for 30 minutes to draw out the juices.

2. Make the Shortcakes –

   • Preheat oven to 400°F.

   • In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.

   • Cut in the cold butter using a pastry cutter or your fingers until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.

   • In a separate bowl, whisk together cream, egg, and vanilla. Add to the dry mixture and stir just until combined.

   • Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and pat into a 1-inch-thick round. Cut out shortcakes with a biscuit cutter and place on a baking sheet.

   • Bake for 15–18 minutes, or until golden. Cool slightly.

3. Whip It Good – In a cold mixing bowl, beat the cream until soft peaks form. Add powdered sugar, cinnamon, and vanilla, then continue beating until fluffy.

4. Assemble & Serve – Slice shortcakes in half, spoon the peaches over the bottom, top with a dollop (or two!) of cinnamon whipped cream, and crown with the other half of the shortcake. Add more cream if your heart says yes.
